Our Dream Girl
School Project, 2022
A visual series investigating the imposed restrictions of femininity by highlighting flexible representations through dress and movement, to strengthen the freeing form of self-expression and reconstruct female characters as more than a muse. Our Dream Girl consists of a photobook and an illustrated book. The photobook captures the dream-like beauty of femininity by reconstructing scenes of women in their everyday life at home where they feel most comfortable expressing themselves. With the use of monologues from MPDG films, it highlights the combination of conventional and unconventional ideas of femininity, relationships, and how women are perceived.
The Scene Breakdown Illustrated Book elaborates on the different representations and scenes captured in the photobook while highlighting the details that make up the entire scene, suggesting narratives and offer alternative conventional and unconventional representations of femininity to readers.
